The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association has established the Group Finder at ConservationTools.org. Through various avenues, it provides geographic and other information about land trusts, watershed associations, environmental advisory councils, and other organizations.
Land Trust Service Areas
You can use Find a Pennsylvania Land Trust to identify land trusts and their service areas by typing in an address or clicking on a map. Or you can dig deeper, using the advanced query function to find which land trusts are working in a particular county, watershed, or legislative district, or alternatively, find out what counties, watersheds, or legislative districts a particular land trust works in.
Watershed Association Finder
The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association has launched the beta version of Find a Pennsylvania Watershed Association. You can use it to identify watershed associations and the watersheds they serve by typing in an address or clicking on a map.
Please contact Josh VanBrakle at jvanbrakle@conserveland.org or 717-379-1758 if your organization hasn’t yet been added to the finder or you have suggestions for improving the finder.
Please note that an organization must have a web address or social media address to be included. The organization also must meet the definition of watershed association used for the finder:
A watershed association is a non-governmental organization whose mission focuses on protecting, restoring health to, or monitoring a specific body of water, or educating on how policies and actions in the watershed impact the water body; it advances its mission at least in part by performing on-the-ground or in-the-water projects such as streamside tree plantings, aquatic habitat improvements, stream cleanups, and water quality monitoring.
