The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association is pleased to announce the addition of a new member to the PALTA team: Nate Lotze (pronounced LOATS) joins PALTA as the Communications Specialist. Nate comes to Harrisburg from North Carolina, where he managed an organic vegetable farm and witnessed first-hand the ability of farmland to transform communities by providing access to healthy food grown in a responsible manner. Before farming, he worked for Environment Ohio, focusing on advocacy, media relations, and grassroots organizing. Nate’s passion for land conservation can be traced back to childhood summers spent on a third-generation family tree farm in Wisconsin, and these days he enjoys the great outdoors while biking, hiking, running, and camping. As a new Pennsylvania resident, he is excited to explore—and help preserve–the beautiful natural places the state has to offer.
As Communications Specialist, Nate will spearhead PALTA’s efforts to better tell the story of land conservation. Nate plans to jump start and amplify the discussions surrounding conservation through a variety of traditional and social media platforms, ensuring that more Pennsylvanians understand what land conservation is and how it can benefit their communities.
