Job Description
20 hour per week seasonal position June through November.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Monitoring of 11 preserved properties and 7 conservation easements
Monitoring and maintenance of all trails, parking lots, wildlife ponds and wild trout streams
Trail design, layout, clearing, signage
Information kiosk construction and interpretive signage
Footbridge and stream crossing installation and maintenance
Preserve clean ups
Posting preserved lands and easement boundaries
Wild Trout stream habitat restoration, signage installation
Baseline biological assessment coordination
Coordinating with Ex. Director on other tasks as necessary and scheduling permits
Qualifications:
database administration and management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Self-starter
Highly organized; ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks
Good telephone commuinications skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member in a small office environment
Degree in Natural Resource Management or equivalent experience
Desired (though not required) qualifications include strong proofreading abilities and comfort working with various forms of social media (e.g., Facebook and Twitter)
Pocono Heritage Land Trust is a non-profit organization formed in 1984 to establish protected areas in the Pocono region of Northeastern Pennsylvania
PHLT works with landowners and communities to protect natural habitats; sites of cultural, archaeological, and anthropological significance; scenic areas, and other open spaces.
