DIRECTOR OF PROPERTY AND RECREATION – East Bradford Township (population 10,000), Chester County, PA seeks an innovative leader to fill the new position of Director of Property and Recreation. East Bradford Township has experienced steady growth in the areas of open space, recreation, and trails. This is a unique position that embodies elements of parks/recreation, and preservation/stewardship.

This is an exempt, supervisory position with full responsibility for directing and coordinating all Township parks, recreation, and open space projects and programs. The position requires work within the areas of administration, programming, staffing, finance, facilities management, and community relations. The employee is directly responsible to the Township Manager and has supervisory authority over the Property and Recreation Assistant. The employee regularly supports and coordinates directly with volunteers, including a 7 member Parks and Recreation Board and a 15+/- member Trails Committee.

The Township is looking for a leader who is able to communicate effectively, plan and prioritize multiple projects, energize others, and work collaboratively in a team setting. Candidates should have: (1) Bachelor Degree in applicable study (e.g. natural resource management, environmental studies, recreation studies, parks management); (2) 3-5 years of experience in parks, recreation, stewardship, resource management, education, enforcement, or similar fields; (3) a valid PA Driver License in good standing.

Salary range $50,000-$80,000 with excellent benefits; actual salary to be based on experience/qualifications. The anticipated start date is January 2017.
