Straughan is currently seeking someone to fill a leadership position on the management team as the Director of Natural Resources. The position requires proven capabilities in project management, business development, and employee management. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to track and manage multiple tasks and priorities, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in both speech and writing are a must. In addition, candidates must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, team environment.

Job Requirements:
Job requirements include developing and implementing strategic goals; project and contract management; implementing policies and procedures for operations and safety; staff oversight and management; recruiting and hiring; proposal and task order development; achieving financial objectives of the department; and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field.
Experience working with state and local governments in the mid-Atlantic region.
Strong leadership skills. Past experience managing and mentoring people.
Experience and ability to manage multiple projects, including preparing budgets, scopes, and schedules; monitoring project status; communicating with the project team, client, and other stakeholders; and implementing a quality control process.
A proven record of developing business and writing proposals in the environmental field.
Experience overseeing the preparation of environmental documents and permitting for infrastructure projects.
Expertise in environmental regulations and policy.
Ability to conduct research and analysis, complete field investigations, and document findings clearly and effectively.
Experience conducting stream and watershed assessments; wetland delineations; forest stand delineations and forest conservation plans; vegetation inventories and assessments; and water quality monitoring.
Experience writing National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) documents.
Experience utilizing ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
Proficient in MS Office applications (World/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
Well developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; ability to create effective written reports and documentation.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple project, employee, and business development tasks.
Desirable Qualifications:
Post-graduate degree in environmental science or related field.
Professional Certification, such as, Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Certified Ecologist (CE), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or ISA Certified Arborist Certification.
