The Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP) is seeking a Communications and Outreach Coordinator to support and expand the dozens of events that the organization annually supports. Ideal candidates must have a background with event management or customer service and social media.

Primary Responsibilities:
*Promote the organization and educate the public through events and volunteer programs
*Develop and grow partnerships with target Shell Recycling Alliance members
*Assist with educational and fundraising campaigns to engage stakeholder groups and the general public
*Utilize social media platforms to enhance ORP’s brand in the marketplace and promote upcoming events
*Conduct website maintenance

Essential Qualifications:
*One year minimum experience with event planning or consumer marketing
*Familiarity with WordPress and ability to perform website and social media updates
*Ability to write professionally
*Strong commitment to environment issues
*Preference given to those familiar working within customer relationship management (CRM) databases
*Must have own transportation and be able to work some weekends and evenings

Job Duties:
This position is responsible to support the execution of the following programs:

*Outreach and Event Coordination:
Manage and grow the organization’s diverse outreach events throughout the region. Tasks include:

1-Coordinate logistics for 80+ events per year
Attend community events, create ORP displays and/or conduct presentations
2-Take digital photographs to document events
3-Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage budgets for ORP events
4-Maintain event supplies and materials
5-Cultivate and steward the Shell Recycling Alliance network

*Social Media and Marketing Support:
Assist in updating the website and social media platforms, and supporting other marketing activities. Tasks include:

1-Utilize donor software program to send out pre-registration confirmation emails and complete back end data entry and manage event registrations
2-Perform organizational website updates using a WordPress platform

*Volunteer Coordination:
Assist in the creation and management of a volunteer program for the organization. Tasks include:

1-Recruit and train event volunteers
2-Identify opportunities for volunteer activities.
3-Develop and maintain professional peer contacts at partner organizations

Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or environmental education with two years of progressively increased responsibility.

Other Required and Desired Skills:
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software (Access, excel, power point).
*Experience with contact database management.
*Experience creating and editing websites using WordPress and managing social media outreach programs.

Position Status and Benefits:
The position is a full-time permanent (40 hours) with full benefits including health, 401K, and paid time off. Salary is commensurate with experience. The primary duty station for this position is Annapolis, Maryland. Regular travel to events in Maryland and Washington DC is required.
