In Memoriam: Ilse Morning

06/19/2018

Ilse Morning passed away peacefully at Lehigh Center, Trexlertown, on May 29, 2018. She had just celebrated her 91st birthday.

Ilse was a director emeritus of Berks Nature (formerly the Berks Conservancy), a director of the Pine Creek Valley Watershed Association and a trustee of the William B. Butz Memorial Fund.

She enjoyed visiting foreign countries and learning about foreign cultures. During her lifetime she traveled extensively throughout Europe and to such diverse places as Egypt, China, and Russia. She also delighted in her frequent visits to New York City where she went to the opera, to concerts and to many other cultural events. But most of all particularly in later years she loved being at her home at Long Lane Farm in the beautiful Oley Hills of Berks County.

Ilse was a great lover of nature, a defender of animals and wildlife, and a staunch conservationist. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
