Last Park Visionary Dies

Untitled Page

(January 17, 2008) George Kiester, who worked with friends and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy a half century ago to conserve and establish Moraine State Park, died in his sleep last night. Thanks to the vision of Kiester and colleagues, Moraine State Park’s 16,725 acres provide hiking, biking, swimming, boating, hunting and more to hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians each year.
