Willistown Conservation Trust Names New Chair to Board of Trustees

01/31/2017

On January 31, Willistown Conservation Trust welcomed Beth Hucker as the newest chair of its Board of Trustees. She replaces outgoing chair Janice Murdoch.

“Beth has deep roots in our program area, having lived most of her life on her family’s Little Brook Farm in Berwyn,” said Bonnie Van Alen, the Trust’s executive director. “With parents who were avid birders, Beth grew up loving nature and the rural countryside surrounding her home, and she has dedicated much of her adult life to protecting it.”

Beth has skillfully served as the Trust’s treasurer from 2011 to 2016 and as a board member from 2007 to the present. She is the president of Superior Family Office, Inc. Beth serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and is a trustee of the Agnes and Sophia Dallas Irwin Foundation. She is the former chair of the Shipley School Board of Trustees and former treasurer of the Radnor Hunt. A graduate of The Shipley School and Princeton University, Beth and her husband reside in Berwyn. Beth is an avid gardener, fly-fisherwoman, and animal lover.

The Trust is thankful to Murdoch, who is stepping down from her chair position after having served in that role for two years. Under her leadership, the Trust made great strides in land protection initiatives and in advancing the Trust’s Willistown Countryside Forever $10.5 million Capital Campaign. Janice will continue to serve on the Board of Trustees.
