The Brandywine Conservancy is an innovative, non-profit land and water conservation organization that owns and manages over 2,000 acres of land and holds conservation easements on an additional 38,000 acres in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. Brandywine is seeking an experienced conservation professional for its Land Conservation Program to provide land conservation planning services to private landowners with emphasis on conservation easements and land acquisitions.

The Senior Planner is responsible for all aspects of land conservation via easements and fee acquisitions, including:
1) landowner and community outreach, and preparation, negotiation, and closing of conservation easements;
2) education of and liaison with real estate professionals, attorneys, developers, appraisers, governmental officials, landowners and the general public regarding land conservation options and practices;
3) coordination with local, state, and federal agencies in joint land conservation efforts, including grant writing and administration; and
4) assistance to other Conservancy programs and personnel in easement stewardship and other conservation matters.

Qualified applicants will have an advanced degree in regional planning, land planning, real estate, environmental science, ecology or a related field and at least five years’ experience with conservation easements and natural resource management or land planning. Must be able to comprehend and understand real estate-related legal documents.
