Natural Lands Trust manages more than 20,000 acres of natural areas in the Philadelphia region, and protects lands using conservation easements and community planning. The most recent addition to these preserved lands is Stoneleigh, which became the 43rd Natural Lands Trust nature preserve when the children of the late John and Chara Haas donated the family’s 39-acre Stoneleigh estate in Villanova.

The Seasonal Stewardship Assistant will work directly with the Stoneleigh Property Manager to maintain aspects of the property. The position will offer the incumbent the opportunity to become familiar with local flora and to gain experience in land stewardship techniques. This is a hands-on position that will have, among others, the following duties: Land stewardship including invasive plant control, lawn and trail mowing, maintaining native and cultivated plant gardens, and restoration of natural areas and hedgerows. Tools used in the course of the work (training will be provided) include: power string trimmers, brushcutters, hand and power saws, pruners, lawnmower, truck and tractor. The Seasonal Stewardship Assistant will report to the Property Manager. The expected rate of pay is $10.50 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, for up to twelve weeks. A valid driver’s license and background check is required.

Natural Lands Trust, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. All decisions with respect to hiring are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, ancestry or disability. Decisions are made solely upon the basis of qualifications related to the requirements of the job.
