Wildlands Conservancy is accepting applications for an Outdoor Recreation Program Coordinator who will be responsible for providing a balance of watershed education and outdoor exploration opportunities through teaching, training, managing and leadership. The Outdoor Recreation Program Coordinator will oversee the Conservancy’s education programs and outreach activities.
The successful candidate will perform routine tasks including but not limited to, providing professional and effective leadership across the scope of programs; being able to keep precise accounting of trip costs and expenses, assisting with program budgets; recruiting, training, and evaluating staff and volunteers; managing inventory of program equipment; conducting safety presentations; developing program logistics; meeting with schools, businesses and other organizations and agencies to promote Wildlands Conservancy’s missions; creating new education programs; assisting with grants and being responsible for some of Wildlands Conservancy education programs.
The successful candidate should be at least 18 years of age; be able to work with all individuals of all ages, gender, race and abilities in the outdoors and indoors; be able to work individually and within a team; have previous experience as river guide and/or additional relevant trainings or certifications such as lifeguard, Wilderness First Aid/First Responder, and water rescue trainings; have knowledge and experience with outdoor recreation activities such as, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking and bicycling; be tolerant of inclement weather conditions; possess or are willing to acquire Adult CPR/AED and Frist Aid Certification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (ACT 151), Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Background Check (Act 34), and current FBI Clearance; and must have a valid Pennsylvania Drivers’ License.
Salary $30,000-$35,000/yearly
