Lancaster Farmland Trust, a land conservation organization in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania is seeking to fill the position of Agricultural Outreach Specialist.
The Ag Outreach Specialist provides technical assistance and serves as a liaison to farmers, municipal officials, other conservation organizations, state and federal agencies and the private agricultural sector on issues related to land and water stewardship, environmental regulations and the protection of natural resources. The position is also responsible for administering grants associated with these activities.
A qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Resource Management or similar degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in an agricultural related position. Must demonstrate a knowledge of farming practices and an understanding of current environmental regulations. Applicants must also have excellent interpersonal and written communications skills and be able to work collaboratively with a small dedicated team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of ArcGIS is required. Certification to write conservation plans a plus.
